I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at University of California, Riverside.

I am on the job market during the 2026-2027 academic year.

My research focuses on applied microeconomics, with specializations in labor economics and the economics of education. I study how educational and family environments shape human capital accumulation, with particular attention to gender disparities and child well-being. I use large-scale administrative and survey data, combined with causal inference methods, to examine these topics.

My name, Zhuoyu Qiu (丘卓瑜), is pronounced “Jwo-yoo Chyo.” I also go by Rachel.
